Most Collagen Products Are Underdosed — Here's the Proof

Take a look at the label on your collagen supplement. How much collagen do you actually get in one serving?

Many collagen products contain just 2–5 grams of hydrolysed collagen peptides per serving. Some beauty supplements include as little as 1 gram, yet still highlight collagen on the front of the packaging.

Now compare that with the amounts most clinical studies use. Research investigating skin, joint and connective tissue health commonly uses 10–15 grams of collagen per day.

That's a big difference.

If you've tried collagen before and didn't notice much of a benefit, the issue may not be the collagen itself—it could simply be that you weren't taking enough.

In the next blog, we'll look at why 10–15 grams is the amount that matters and how to choose a collagen supplement that delivers an effective daily serving.
